This is not a performance to watch. **It is a pilgrimage to enter.** A sacred journey through the heart of New Orleans — a city of rhythm, resilience, and light. A thousand candles will cut through the night, winding down Magazine Street as a living river of light, faith, and song.
"This procession embodies the sacred contrasts of our faith — light piercing darkness, sacred silence breaking into song. We carry the light of Christ through the streets of New Orleans, just as Joseph and Mary carried Him to Bethlehem. This isn't an interruption of ordinary life; it's the Incarnation made visible: the Word made Flesh dwelling among us, right here on these streets. Every person holding a candle becomes a bearer of Christ's light. You're not just witnessing the Nativity — you're participating in the mystery. In your hands, Bethlehem is born anew."
All participants are encouraged to wear period-appropriate costumes! Become part of the living story as we walk through ancient Bethlehem together.
All ages are welcome. No Cost. Donations Accepted. Walk the full 1.2-mile route or join at any scene. Multiple entry and exit points are available. For those joining from afar, a full livestream with audio description will be available for virtual pilgrims.
